Atlantis Sanya, China说明:

Jeffrey Beers International envisioned the new Atlantis Sanya, China as a glamorously modern venue rising from the vast South China Sea. It will be an island oasis like nothing seen before, an otherworldly jewel forged by the forces of lightning and water. The sensual patterns and undulating lines are dramatically futuristic yet simultaneously familiar, ageless, and organic; shapes sculpted by the relentless movement of the surrounding currents.

Lobby and Public Space

The lobby is a spectacle of spinning tidal motion, swirling eddies repeated in a plethora of materials. Enormous wood carved rippling walls radiate along wide, curved passages. Overhead panels, cast to emulate rolling ocean swells, form a giant ribbon that spirals up toward an immense ocular skylight. Expansive swathes of glass form a diaphanous barrier that blurs the distinction between inside and out. Layers of giant full-height operable glass wall panels open like the gills of a fish to admit the saltwater breeze. Everywhere glistening, reflective materials - silver leaf, polished marble, mother-of-pearl, burnished metals - disperse the dazzling tropical sunlight that pours into the monumental open spaces.

An intricate stone floor pattern set with blue, gold and green Chinese marbles evokes a giant starfish, while the rotunda walls, set with over four thousand cast fins suggest a whale poised to plunge into the sea. Hand blown glass coral and fish swimming in the air emerge from a central reflecting pool and are surrounded by kinetically torqued columns ringing the atrium, allusions to the dichotomous nature of water abound.

Throughout the property, the natural beauty and rich local culture of Sanya Hainan are masterfully blended with the legendary ethos of Atlantis Resorts. Furnishings are accented with exotic hardwoods native to the province: Zitan, Hongmu, Jichimu, all prized for their dark hues, unusual graining, and natural luster. Images of indigenous Chinese lacebark elm and purple sea fan coral are etched onto glass and bronze surfaces. Wide, curved passages connecting lounges, ballrooms, and dining rooms are dotted with illuminated bronze niches intended to showcase the work of local Chinese artists. Deep ocean blue stone frames the breathtaking aquatic displays for which Atlantis is famous.

Glass plays an important part throughout the hotel. A large-scale, kinetic glass installation, located above an infinity water pool, is the central feature of the lobby. It represents one of several projects on which JBI collaborated with famed Czech glass producer Lasvit, including custom fixtures in the public space. Elegant cast coral motif glass panels adorn the public elevator lobby.

Restaurants

Guests have a wealth of dining options located throughout the hotel. Plato’s Lounge & Bar offers refreshment and compelling views wherever a guest looks: operable glass walls open to the outdoors and pivoting screens on the other side of the space reveal the dramatic life under water within the majestic Poseidon’s Court aquarium. The lobby level is also home to a VIP Lounge, Wedding Lounge and Green Room.

A dramatically sculpted ceiling, evoking the movements of a giant sea creature, undulate across the top of the Poseidon’s Court and Café. Located on the level below the lobby, Poseidon Café is an American diner inspired outlet adjacent to Poseidon’s Court. Overlook at the gigantic aquarium, it features a retro look, with quilted stainless steel wall panels and black and white mosaic stone floor, anchored by circular booths at each. A gentle reflecting pool in front and a cascading waterfall over an undulating blue mosaic clad wall foster the sense of being at one with the fish under water.

Tang Chinese Restaurant

Sophisticated and inviting, monolithic marble plinth host desks anchor the Decorative Ming green vases line the walls behind the host station, providing stylish contrast to the poppy red lacquer walls. Additional walls are clad with light grey dimensional stone panels and ebonized beams adorn the ceiling. The main dining room incorporates a textured wood ceiling and floor comprising three distinct marbles in a geometric pattern that contrast dynamically with the floral motif carpet. Beautiful panels of decorative fabric are sandwiched between glass panes and illuminated from below. These glowing, lacy panels divide tables along one wall, while providing visual privacy and animating the space, as does the adjacent poppy red lacquer wall screen. Ten Private Dining Rooms in a range of sizes and configurations can accommodate any special group. Mother of pearl, mirror polished stainless steel, silver leaf and other luxurious materials enhance special occasions.

Pepper Crab Restaurant

The restaurant brings the casual and rustic dining experience of Singapore’s famous street food to Atlantis. The design embraces a tropical resort ambience, featuring a woven rattan ceiling, wicker chairs and basked lights all inspired with Southeast Asian colonial style. Cerused wood tables and the graphic accent floor tiles bring elegant touches to the relaxed dining destination, which also offers three Private Dining Rooms.

Saffron All-Day Dining

Guests descend a sculptural, spiral stair from the lobby to enter the All-day Dining restaurant. This bright and modern space lets the food shine at each of the nine stations, each providing a distinctive culinary experience. White marble mosaic tiles and lacquered panels add visual interest, while dropped ceilings help to articulate to each of the stations.

Club Lounges

Special guests take advantage of the Club Lounges on floor 15 and 42. Indigo and gold colors differentiate the 15th Floor lounge, which also features a blue onyx buffet counter and decorative screens, along with a mix of banquette and lounge seating. The 42nd floor lounge offers a refined and elegant design with a plum and pale blue color palette accented by white onyx.

Pool Bar

Relaxing by the pool is enhanced by the fresh and fun Pool Bar. Decorative mosaic tiles adorn one wall and run from the floor up across the circular bar’s fascia, gradually transitioning through shades of blue to white. Lounge sofas, tables and bar stools provide the perfect perch for a drink or snack.

Tiki Bar Lounge

The Tiki Bar lounge, located adjacent to the Brewery Bar, is inspired by Polynesian style. This fluid indoor/outdoor venue incorporates an operable storefront that can open. Evoking the tropics of Polynesia, design elements include: rope columns, rustic wood sculptures, and burnt wood graphics inspired by traditional indigenous tattoos, bamboo wall panels and light fixture and a bright, graphic tropical plant mural.

Retail Avenue

JBI’s design employs a collection of luxurious materials - textured wood, polished stainless steel, marble and terrazzo - to establish an elegant and contemporary aesthetic for the Avenues retail area. Twisted metal fin clad columns, echoing those in the hotel lobby, define the retail rotunda and complement the boldly patterned stone floor.

Guestrooms

The sleek, modern aesthetic established in the public areas carries into each of the spacious guestrooms. Here, JBI’s design balances thoughtful, tailored details with beautiful natural materials, such as marble floors and warm wood. The design features an open bathroom concept with large sliding doors that enable guests to enjoy the view from a freestanding tub. The ocean’s layered aqua tones inspired the color palette and a custom graphic embroidery fabric panel at the headboard is an abstract depiction of sea life.

Suites

Suites are designed as luxury residences in the sky and offer panoramic views of the ocean. Guests travel to the Imperial and Royal Suites, located at the top of the tower, via private elevators. Each suite incorporates a grand living room with high ceiling and a fireplace, a formal dining room, media room, spacious master bedroom with a sitting area and bathroom with sculptural tub. Sumptuous materials, including white onyx and semi-precious stone, are used throughout.

Lost Chamber Suites

The Lost Chamber Suites offer a destination within a destination.  Located in their own private area of the resort, these multi-level grand suites offer incomparable aquarium views.  Full wall windows in the master bedroom and bath open to underwater views of Atlantis’s feature aquarium.  Soft, modern detailing, marble stonework and furnishings showcase the feature views of the space.
